Webinar on how we can make generative AI safer for young people - and what can we learn directly from their experiences.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

What do young people actually think about the risks of generative AI - and how can their experiences help make AI safer?

Join this webinar from our Design Bioethics Lab, sharing findings from the SHIFT-AI project, which investigates how coproduction with young people can promote safer human-AI interaction for adolescents. This project is one of the first initiatives to centre young people as co-researchers in generative AI safety.

We’ll share co-produced findings on the risks and benefits of generative AI for young people, and what these insights mean for building safer AI platforms.

What to expect:

  • Key findings on young people’s experiences of generative AI
  • First-hand reflections from youth co-researchers
  • A showcase of project outputs, including:
    • How young people are using and experiencing generative AI in practice
    • First-hand reflections from youth co-researchers
    • Practical outputs from the project - including policy recommendations and the SHIFT-AI Safety Toolkit (designed by young people, for young people)

Whether you’re a researcher, educator, policymaker, parent or simply curious about the future of AI, this webinar offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from young people and the researchers working alongside them.

The SHIFT-AI project is supported by the AI Security Institute’s Challenge Fund.
