ANTITHESES recently brought together leading researchers in phenomenology and child & adolescent mental health with the NeurOx Young People’s Advisory Group (YPAG) for a unique, inter-generational dialogical event.

The discussion explored embodied experiences in youth mental health, with the centrepiece of the exchange taking the form of round-table discussions concerning radical value disagreements. By combining academic expertise with the perspectives of young people, the event created space for new insights into how values, experiences and interpretations can diverge - and how these differences matter for both research and practice.

This collaborative workshop highlighted the importance of listening across generations, bridging disciplinary divides and foregrounding young people’s voices in shaping future approaches to mental health.
